In Canada now...

This be a Golden-Collared Toucan. A bird you could go and see if you wish to escape damp, snowy, grey Toronto!

We be back in Toronto now and will update on our latest adventures once we have our computer/internet/phone/house up and running. We should have internet next week and DB picked up the last of our 'cargo' on Wednesday. J-Rock back in his old school and seems to have slipped in quite easily! He's even doing his homework without complaint? What. However, it is the trip to the dentist that I am wondering about with the fallout from English sweets...

Kentish KT plans on staying on the 'net so keep this space close to your heart!!!!

Last few days around Kent...

Managing to get out and about with our car - sortof SUV - sortof van sortof. Finished packing so had a look around some of the former coal producing areas near here. Towns like Elvington and Betteshanger come to mind.

Saw this really cool windmill. You can get tours but not at this time of year.
Also, took time to take some pictures of J-Rock's school....They have a pond and a very nice playing field. No dogs or people can get in after hours.Yeeesss....
So I have orders to bring back HP Curry Sauce, Chicken Tikka Masala (what, hot or cold?), Caramac Choc Bars, Dark Choc Flakes, and Chocolate Nestle Straws....I can take orders for another 24 hours at which point the order service will be shut down..And so will Kentish KT....

Requests for Things English???

If anyone (within reason) would like me to bring back stuff from over here let me know by email as soon as you can. I'm packing this weekend and want to have an idea of what I am up against. I've already had a request for Reddi Brek so get your orders in.

And, um, I did look into buying a bottle of Tesco Value Gin but realized it wouldn't get through security and would probably break if I checked it in my luggage!

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school for J-Rock. He was inundated with farewell cards and cheery goodbyes! I will miss the walk to school in the morning to drop him off. But needs must. So he will be biding his time in activities as above until we leave. At least it isn't TV!

It has been incredibly warm today. Not much wind. Unusual. Warm. I only wore a sweater with no mitts or hat today. Sunny. Was able to sit out on the balcony and be warm.
Weekend will be somewhat busy with a trip to the Woolpack to meet up with friends and do some birding around Dungeness. DB is planning a BIG day with his Planet Thanet friends and hopes to get at least 109 species. If they fail in their quest they will be drowning their sorrows at the Minster Tandoori.
But more on all that later......
