Around the Isle 2008
Tonight for our last meal we went to an excellent French restaurant on Ramsgate called non other than "Bon Appetit".
A Canadian living on the Isle of Thanet explores Thanet, Kent and beyond with DB and J-Rock.
The New Year is almost upon us and all that and well just thought I ought to emerge. It's grey and damp outside - very similar to climate of this time last year! And not so many posts away...Unlike poor Mary Knitting on the Cam and Blowing Up Onions I have successfully baked a cranberry-apple-blueberry Pie that will soon be demolished. Boyz playing computers, DB with his guitar candy and we are all off to the wilds of Georgetown in next few minutes.
Getting my act in gear and thought I would organize some of my happenings. Been everywhere but Thanet past few months! Let's see -- Killarney Provincial Park, Parry Sound, Portage Lake, Ottawa, Algonquin Provincial Park, Walsingham, Brooklin and more besides.
Managing to get out and about with our car - sortof SUV - sortof van sortof. Finished packing so had a look around some of the former coal producing areas near here. Towns like Elvington and Betteshanger come to mind.
If anyone (within reason) would like me to bring back stuff from over here let me know by email as soon as you can. I'm packing this weekend and want to have an idea of what I am up against. I've already had a request for Reddi Brek so get your orders in.
Today was the last day of school for J-Rock. He was inundated with farewell cards and cheery goodbyes! I will miss the walk to school in the morning to drop him off. But needs must. So he will be biding his time in activities as above until we leave. At least it isn't TV!
